Richard Rieman- Imagination Videobooks

During his long and illustrious career as a reporter, Richard Rieman worked all over the world and traveled on the press plane with former President Ronald Reagan. 

Richard joins me on this very special edition of Decide to Transform to talk about the power of imagination, and the need we all have to cultivate it.

Richard spent significant time as a guide for blind skiers, and when concluding his career in journalism noted a tremendous void in the audiobook world, namely audiobooks especially for blind and low vision children. 

Imagination Videobooks was born. Because children's books have illustrations, these audiobooks contain an audio description of the illustrations.

The power of imagination is tremendous. One way we can cultivate it is by reading. If you are a parent, you can help cultivate your children's imaginations by reading to them.

As a child, Richard Rieman wanted to be Superman. Since he couldn't fly, he decided to be Clark Kent instead and had a long and successful career as a radio news reporter and anchor. Richard then became the "Audiobook Wizard," narrating and producing hundreds of audiobooks and authoring the award-winning book The Author's Guide to Audiobook Creation. To fill a gap in the audiobook world, Richard founded Imagination Videobooks, a nonprofit that creates audiobooks for blind and low vision children which include audio description of the wonderful illustrations.
